FlourishAnyway believes there is a playlist for almost every situation and is dedicated to uniting and entertaining the world through song.
True Love Songs: Does your love know no borders?
Do you accept your loved ones when they are moody, forgetful, broken, or fragile? What if they misbehave or are the least lovable? What if their lifestyle, values, politics, religion, personal choices, or some other aspect of their identity are radically different from yours?
People often claim that their love is unconditional when in reality they place many conditions on it. The way we condition our love says as much about us as it does about the purpose of our affection.
I hope you have someone
- loves you for you
- accepts you without demands
- believe in you and
- supports you through triumph and tragedy.
If you love someone this way, why not create a playlist of unconditional love songs to remind them how much you care? We've got a long list of pop, rock, country, and R&B songs to get you started.
1. "All of Me" by John Legend
Whether she's crying or arguing with him, the woman at the center of this 2013 love song has endless devotion to her partner. Cause she realizes that she's perfectimperfect, his mistakes push him deeper:
because all of me
I love you all
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
give me everything
I will give everything for you
2. "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri
Here is an ode to vampire love and other forms of eternal passion. In the 2011 theme song forDie Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, the narrator describes with utter amazement the feeling of finding the true love that one has been waiting for. It is fate and all eternity cannot separate the two of them.
3. "Unconditional" by Katy Perry
Insecurities, dirty laundry, and bad days—the girl in this 2013 love song welcomes them all, along with the positive. She promises her unconditional love and hopes that her partner will simply open her heart and let them know who they are without fear of rejection or judgment.
4. "Stay With You" by Rachel Platten
There's no question that the girl has your back in this upbeat pop song from 2015. She promises to stand by you scars and all, and help you bear the burden that threatens to break you. She will cry with you when you are weak, she will guide you through hell when necessary and she will even lend you her wings when yours are broken.
This strong woman knows the value of unconditional love and expresses it. May you have the power to be that person for someone else when they are vulnerable, sick, or in trouble, and may you receive it in return. She can make all the difference.
5. "The way you are" by Bruno Mars
The woman Bruno Mars sings about in this 2010 love ballad is beautiful inside and out, and he wouldn't change a thing about her. He loves her without exception. Although he compliments her on her eyes, hair, face, lips, and smile, she has a hard time accepting her compliments. He assures her that she is amazing just the way she is. (Accept love, girl. This is Bruno Mars!)
6. "I'll Always Love You" by Whitney Houston
Country singer Dolly Parton wrote and first sang this tune. Yet it was Whitney Houston who made it her trademark in 1992, with high notes that make angels flutter. When two lovers break up, one promises the other that she will always love him.
7. "Think Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran
For now, these lovers are young and lithe, but decades later, the man in this 2014 pop song envisions a time when their bodies will falter and their memories fade.
Eventually, we all become mere caricatures of what we once were. However, he loves her partner unconditionally, and all of this probably only deepens her love for her:
'Cause darling, your soul can never grow old; it is evergreen
Honey, your smile is forever in my mind and in my memory.
8. "I'll Stand by You" de The Pretenders
"Nothing you confess could make me love you less.Well, that's unconditional love, and that's what the woman promises her lover in this rock song from 1994. She won't let anyone hurt him, even in his darkest hour, and even if he's wrong, she will be there.
9. "Keep Loving You" by REO Speedwagon
We all carry emotional baggage, and the woman at the heart of this '80s rock song carries a lot, with a reputation to match. However, his devoted companion ignores the lovers who came before him. They are irrelevant to your relationship. He loves his partner without judgment or blame and promises that those feelings will last forever.
10. "Then" by Brad Paisley
In this 2009 country song, a man recalls first meeting his wife and then falling in love with her. Every step of the way, he couldn't imagine loving her more and is excited for their future together.
11. "Forever and Forever Amen" by Randy Travis
The charming countryman in this 1987 ditty promises his lady that he will be faithful and always love her. Regardless of the cost he may take at her age, he intends to love her unconditionally.
12. "Woman of a Good Heart" by Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson
Some people might call the suffering wife in this classic 1976 country song an idiot, others would say she simply loves her husband despite his many flaws. She has made him many empty promises, she has done bad things and she likes the night life too much for a married man. However, her girl stays with him because
she is a kind woman
In love with a man of good times.
She loves him despite his nature.
That she doesn't understand.
13. "Round Trip to the Moon" by Luke Bryan
While many of us have the benefit of unconditional love in our lives, the woman in this 2015 country song desperately craves it. An embittered woman, the narrator grew up with a poor excuse for a mother, and her father has now lost touch. Her friends betrayed her and left her heart yearning for someone to love. When she finds him, she plans to love him to the moon and back.
14. "Stay With You" by John Legend
Now here's a solid man. In this 2004 love song, the narrator promises that he and his lover will be lovers for life. Through the sorrows and pains that come her way in the future, he will support her until the end of time.
15. Halestorm's "Dear Daughter"
Every daughter should have parental support, expressed in this hard rock song from 2015. A father explains to his little daughter that she will experience love, pain, hope and fear as she grows up, and that he will be there for her through everything. From a man's perspective, he advises her to be herself in the face of pressure from her, whether it's from her peers or a friend of hers.
16. "Just As You Are" by Billy Joel
This song from 1977 will always be one of my favorites because it speaks frankly about loving the essence of what a person is. Her girlfriend doesn't have to experiment with new fashion choices or a hairstyle to get her attention. He loves the essence of her unconditionally.
17. "Through the Years" by Kenny Rogers
In this 1981 country song, the narrator is grateful that his partner was always there for him and gave him unconditional love. He claims that she taught him everything he knows and that they share a strong relationship of mutual trust and support that has stood the test of time.

now and again
It is an endless love, amen.(Video) Katy Perry - Unconditionally (Official)
19. "My God, Your Mommy and Me" by Florida Georgia Line with the Backstreet Boys

Now until the day I die, unconditionally
You know I'll always be there for you
No one will love you more than
God, your mom and me.
20. "Always Like This" by Ben Rector
Sunny or rainy days, the narrator of this 2013 pop song is about loving your partner. He promises to stay by her side, protect her, and carry her burdens in life. Whatever changes you have to go through, you will get through it together, because that is what unconditional love is all about.

Answer questions
Ask:What does it mean to love "unconditionally"?
Answers:First, let's distinguish between feelings and behavior.
To love unconditionally means that you have deep feelings for someone, no matter what. They do not place conditions, limits, limitations or contingencies on how you feel about them. Nothing can change your love for them.
For example:
• You still love your parents even though they voted for Donald Trump and continue to defend his policies.
• You still love your teenager even though he fails algebra.
• You still love your sister even though she never paid you back the $500 she owed you.
• You still love your cousin even though he is a meth addict and has stolen from you and everyone else he knows.
You can love someone unconditionally for who they are, no matter what.
1) Differences between you in attitudes and values
2) your choices and life choices
3) defects and failures and
4) Habits, addictions, diseases and deficiencies.
But just because you love someone unconditionally doesn't mean you have to put up with their repeated bad behavior, especially when such treatment violates your dignity and self-esteem.
Relationships involve mutual commitment and communication. They are a collaborative exchange, not a grab-and-go where one person is the constant beneficiary and the other is repeatedly exploited.
Relationships generally need conditions, boundaries, contingencies, and boundaries between partners to be healthy. (I'm sure that even in the closest of your relationships, there are bound to be relationship breakers.)
So, going back to the previous examples of unconditional love,
• You can set limits on acceptable topics of conversation with your Trump-loving parents. You still love her unconditionally; behaviorally, you set limits on what you are willing to discuss.
• You can get your child a tutor and restrict his computer and phone so he can regain his electronics privilege with better grades. You still love him unconditionally; behaviorally, you must adjust to some eventualities regarding your notes and electronic devices.
• You can set limits with your sister by telling her that you will pay off her debt but will no longer lend the family money. You still love her unconditionally; behaviorally, she restores expectations about acceptable behavior.
• You explain to your meth-addicted cousin that you can't have a relationship with him until he's clean and sober. You still love him unconditionally; behaviorally establishes a limit or minimum requirements of what is required to be active in his life.

Kenny Rogers' "Through the Years" melts my heart. What I would give if someone wrote me a song with lyrics and a melody like that. I also feel good when I hear Randy Travis sing "Forever and Ever, Amen."
Thank you for this wonderful selection of hits along with this hit center.

I always look forward to the latest installment of his unique series. "If a dog can love us unconditionally, why can't we love ourselves the same way?" I would like to know the answer. So many great songs on your list, but the Waylon and Willie duet on this song is one of my iconic favorites. Thank you very much!
Ana's housefrom the US on January 28, 2018:
Very good song list. However, it is no longer here, so there is no one to list. George Jones put it best: "Just a good-hearted woman in love with a two-timing man," but in the end, by falling ill, she realized what she nearly threw away. If she had stopped drinking, her pancreas might have been fine, but that bottle was more important, she started drinking when she was in seventh grade. But it's just another bedtime story because it makes me sad to think of a love so warm and true lying shattered on the floor.
FlourishAnyway (Autor)from the US on January 28, 2018:
Suhail: You are quite right about the dogs. Although I don't have any dogs, from time to time I help out with my grandmother's two older dogs. They survived my grandfather whom they loved very much. One of them parked by his deathbed for days as he lay dying. He was home in the hospice and she licked her hand as he set it on the edge of the bed. She watched who came into the room and she wouldn't leave unless we forced her to eat or urinate. The love was extraordinary. If only people had half that commitment. Really unconditional. I wish I could say that about my grandmother, but that's just the way she is.
Suhail Zubaid alias Clark Kentfrom Mississauga, ON on January 28, 2018:
Hello bloom,
I listened to most of these songs at some point on my way to work. I just want to say that musicians and songwriters deserve more to talk about unconditional love because they are sensitive to it.
And then there are our dogs who give us this unconditional love :-)
Cheers,

Conditional love is a lofty goal to aspire to. Spreading the idea through music is fantastic. Music is the language of the Hesrts. Of joy and fun. And something funny? It's what we desperately need. Good work!

Lots of good songs here.
Unconditional love is an interesting concept to me. Some people think it means support, no matter what common sense says.
For me it has to do with loving someone no matter what they do. Don't blindly support them when you think they are doing something wrong.

Whenever we're making music, we leave the realm of social conditioning and conscious thought. Instead, we're in direct contact with our emotions. Whenever we're engaged in creativity, such as music-making, we're present in the moment. This presence allows us to get in touch with our emotions and express them.
What is it called when you feel music in your soul? ›While frisson is usually known for being evoked by experiences with music, the phenomenon can additionally be triggered with poetry, videos, beauty in nature or art, eloquent speeches, and the practice of science (mainly physics and mathematics).
Why do I feel a deep connection with music? ›With music's deep connection to the limbic system, people tend to find connections in music through memories. Certain songs have a way of taking you to certain time or a specific place in your life. Because of this, we feel a reminiscent connection to music to go along with the emotions it already arouses in us.
