11 Great Influencer Outreach Email Templates - NinjaOutreach (2023)

Outreach email templates are the messages you send in bulk to the leads listed in your outreach campaign. These messages should explain the purpose of your post, whether it's a backlink, product review, guest post, or something else.

For these messages to be effective, they must be clear, concise, relevant, and persuasive.

So it should be pretty obvious how important your outreach email templates are when connecting with influencers.

As they say, "Every relationship with a great influencer starts with a single email".

Maybe that's not the saying, but it should be. If you want to work with an influencer, you must have a killer pitch.

My team has worked with thousands of influencers on a variety of projects, and we've learned that we're rightDisclosure Emailcan make or break your influencer campaign.

Below I've compiled a summary of the approaches that have worked most effectively for us.

1. The "Let's start a relationship" model

We start with the bottom lineinfluencerDisclosure Email. Many brands already have a wish list of influencers they want to work with and are willing to work with them in any way the influencer sees fit.

Your brand would be equally happy with a single sponsored post, a long-term Instagram campaign, or anything else the influencer might have in mind.

In this case, you should send an open email to find out the availability and prices of the influencers.

Here's an example that Aaron Agius, director of Louder.Online, participated inentrepreneur:

Aaron's model does a lot of things right. He praises the influencer's latest work and shows genuine interest, mentioning he's been a fan since 2013.

It's also short, sweet, and to the point. It's obvious that he'd love to develop an influencer relationship with them and that he's open to brainstorming what that relationship could look like.

Because it's open, his speech feels less transactional and more like onebusiness developmentRelationship that benefits both sides.

All the influencer has to do is reply with a date and time they would like to be contacted.

2. The preview model

Is your brand about to launch a new product? Or maybe you published an originalto search?

Influencers love to keep up to date with the latest trends. Make them feel like a VIP with exclusive early access to your content before it's released.

Here is an example ofBackLinko:

Contacting them in advance provides a unique opportunity to show the influencer the type of relationship they can expect to have with you.

You are considerate, considerate and anticipate their needs - who wouldn't want to work with someone like that?

3. Das Beta Body Model

When you introduce a new product or feature, you can use this variant in the preview template.

Not only do you give the influencer an early look at what you're building, but also give them a spot on your beta testing team.

Let them know that their feedback can directly influence the direction of the product.

Influencers are creators at heart, and many relish the opportunity to help shape the future of a new product.

Here's a sample email that worked for us.

The good thing about this approach is that in addition to building a relationship, you're also building a new oneinfluencer, you might get great product feedback along the way.

4. The model "would like your opinion".

This approach works well when your content is truly unique and distinctive.

If you've compiled research, data or insights that are interesting and relevant to a particular influencer, simply reach out to them and ask them what they think about your content.

The key here is to make it clear that you have unique insights into your piece and it's worth taking the influencer's time to look atsdarot-tv

Here's a great example from Tim Soulo, Head of Marketing atAhrefs:

As with many of the emails on this list, Tim begins his email with a compliment for the influencer's recent work, but it's in the outlined sections where the real magic happens.

Influencer Jessica is a guest blogger, so Tim extracts an intriguing statistic from his brand's content that will pique her interest as a guest blogger.

So he strokes your ego by asking for your feedback.

This approach works. Tim didn't even have to ask Jessica to share his content.

Showing how this would add value to her audience, Jessica made that decision herself.

5. The Expert Resume Template

A great way to prove your worth to your customers is to work with a variety of influencers.

The more influencers you have behind you, the more popular your brand will appear. An easy way to show your popularity is with asummary post.

Pick a topic, reach out to influencers, and ask them to provide their expert opinion.

This can range from advice on frequently asked technical questions to a photo showing how they prefer to use your product.

Here is a modelNadya Khoja, merchant from Venngage, used to askSEO-InfluencerTo provide a citation for your article on creating great content:

crazyegg.com/…/influencers-that-cant-say-no

Nadya recognizes that the first step in creating an effective outreach email is a good subject line.

Your intriguing subject line (Why is “a happy Wednesday?”) calling the recipient by name makes your email irresistible to ignore.

She further personalizes her speech by showing genuine interest in his work.

Nadya gets straight to the point. After a brief introduction of who she is and why she is writing, she puts the “questions” in bold.

This makes your e-mail easy and quick to read.

Finally, she ends her email with a WIIFM ("What's in it for me?") and explains how the influencer benefits from being featured in her article.

This positions him as an expert and offers free content to share with his own audience.

6. The “Introducing You” model

If you used the template above to create a short blog post or mentioned some influencers in a recent article or video, please email the influencer to let them know.

Showcasing them endears them to your brand and is a timely way to introduce yourself.

Here's another example from TimAhrefs:

Greet the influencer with a compliment and link to your content mentioning them.

If you're emailing the influencer for the first time, you can even add a "Re:" before your subject line.

This little trick can help increase your open rates since people will assume it's part of a thread they've already replied to.

Thank the influencer for their work and ask if they have any feedback.

Everyone appreciates the opportunity to share their opinion!

7. Free sample template

Brands often give influencers free products in exchange for the influencer introducing them to their fanbase.

Here's an easy way to offer free samples, again byAaron Agiusvon Louder.Online:

(Video) How to Promote Your Content Using Email Outreach [10.1]

The request in this email is straightforward – your brand is providing the product for free in exchange for the influencer review.

This is a fairly standard transaction request that many influencers are happy to accept.

However, what sets this request apart is that it goes beyond the influencer.

Not only they will be happy about a free sample, but also three of your fans.

They've given the influencer a chance to reward their audience for following them and further cement their loyalty.

This kind of generosity can lead to a lasting relationship with your brand.

8. The event invitation template

If there's one thing influencers love more than free samples, it's parties.

Corresponding to the VIP access offered in the "Sneak Peek" model, networkEvents, meetups, and launch parties are ways for your brand to bring multiple influencers together in one place.

Here is an event invitation template courtesy ofEventbrite:

BeEmail templatemakes the value of the event clear to the influencer: They have the chance to see and be seen, to network and to win free giveaways.

In addition, they can pass on a discount code to theirsReader. All they have to do is publicize the event.

The only improvement this template could use would be to customize it and send it to individual influencers one by one oralign them by location.

9. The Affiliate Marketing Model

This approach can work in certain cases, but should be used with caution.

Affiliate programs offer influencers commissions or payouts based on new customers they refer to you.

In many cases, influencers prefer to be paid up front for collaborative projects, but if their brands are a really good fit for the influencer's target audience, an affiliate marketing approach can be very effective.

The best thing about an affiliate relationship is that the influencer's goals align with yours, they want to increase sales for you, and if they do a good job, they can reap steady sales over the long term.

Here is a template ofCrunch:

After opening with a compliment, the brand representative explains the value of the ambassador program.

(Video) How To Create A List In NinjaOutreach

This email reads like a personalized invitation to become an affiliate, and the brand rep even provides their hotline if the influencer has any questions.

This feels expert and genuine, as if the influencer was chosen for the opportunity based on their sphere of influence.

10. The surveillance model

Sometimes it takes more than an email to get an influencer's attention.

While you don't want to upset anyone, it's usually worth sending a follow-up email. Emails get lost, forgotten or deleted, especially when your inbox is as full as an influencer's.

The staff ofMentionClaim a 53% response rate with this template:

Ösubsequent emailshould remember the person from the previous email, the amount you can bring and the action requested.

To tip the scales in your favor, you can further validate your request by referencing an event you both attended or a common connection.

Bonus tip: Nobody likes to be hassled, but a friendly tweet following your email is harmless enough.

It shows that you've really researched the influencer and really want to have a relationship with them, especially if you've built a history of liking and engaging with their content on a regular basis.

Once again,Nadya and Venngageshows how well this technique works:

11. The model you should absolutely avoid

I hope the nine examples above have inspired you to improve yoursDisclosure of Influencers.

Before you click send, review your email.

If this reminds you of the following email (posted byIt is acquired), probably needs some final adjustments.

It goes without saying that you should always address the influencer directly by name, unlike this email, which begins with the impersonal "Hello gentlemen."

This email is clearly a template—the author even forgot to fill in the [blank] and [insert blog here] fields. It's hard to believe that they are actually "huge fans" of the blog.

Finally, it crudely prompts the influencer to act, suggesting that spots are running out and the influencer should fulfill their agenda by responding as quickly as possible.

Avoid emails like this. Instead, copy the approach of one of the email outreach templates above and adapt it to suit your brand, offer, and influencer.

Best practices for influencer outreach

As you read through the outreach email templates above, you probably noticed a few patterns. Finally, let's look at some best practices for reaching out to influencers.

(Video) 3 Ways to Save Time on Email Outreach (Quickly Reach More Bloggers and Influencers!)

  • Personalize, personalize, personalize. Just like real estate is about location, influencer reach is all about personalization. You should personalize your email – tailor your pitch to the influencer and explain the value to your specific audience.
  • Do it about her instead of you.. Don't talk about your business and how your product is changing the world. Instead of establishing legitimacy, it makes you look desperate (and bores people, too).
  • ask nothing. The influencer owes you nothing and can decide for themselves whether they want to work with you or promote your product. Reserve words like “as soon as possible,” “urgent,” or “now” for your landing pages.
  • get straight to the point. Keep your email short, sweet, and easy to read.

Follow these tips when creating your outreach emails and you will be successful.
